Founder and Director
James Komengi
James Komengi is from Tari in Hela Province and has spent over 20 years working on peacebuilding initiatives there. James graduated with a degree in applied chemistry and spent 10 years working for Chevron Niugini before devoting himself to peacebuilding work.
James has worked with several development partners in Hela including the UNDP, UNIOM, UNFAO and DFAT. In 2024 James was awarded a John Lewis Peace Fellowhip by the United States Institute of Peace where he spent 8 weeks in Washington DC working with fellow peace practitoners from all over the world.
James, along with his brother Moses, was one of the founders of the Young Ambassadors for Peace program in Hela.
